Stop Sweating Excessive Amounts the Natural Way

August 15, 2008

If perspiration is driving you up a wall, you’ll be delighted to know there are various natural ways to halt sweating.

Prior to giving you a list of the ways that can alleviate problems with  your sweat, you should really be aware  that sweating is  an essential process and you shouldn’t eliminate sweating completely. Sweating is your body’s temperature control function. The sweat glands produce perspiration which is brought to your skin’s surface when the body temperature increases. As the perspiration evaporates, it aids cool the skin to a normal temperature. Without sweat, your body would start a process of overheating, causing serious medical complications, even death.

That being said, everybody knows that sweating can be unpleasant and uncomfortable, both for ourselves and for those closest to our hearts. There is no need to take out a mortgage to alleviate the problem. There are lots of simple, low-priced, natural methods to stop sweating excessive amounts.

The most evident means to stop sweating naturally is to evade those situations that provoke you to sweat: avoid brisk exercise, high temperatures and spicy foods. Of course, this avoidance is not always possible.

Ensure to drink lots of cold water to keep your body temperature down. Water is abundant and cheap. By drinking no less than eight 8 oz glasses throughout the day, you’ll keep your body nice and cool. Try to stay in shady, cool areas as well.

A different natural method to stop sweating is to have a shower often, even more than one time a day if need be. Try and use a loofah sponge, which by and large does a better job of scrubbing away bacteria that induce body odor. Make sure you especially scrub your armpits, your groin and your toes. These are all locations where bacteria flourish, which is why these places are so prone to body odor.

There are many natural deodorants that you can benefit from when you get dressed.  You can make your own by combining equal parts of water and rubbing alcohol with tiny amounts of rose water and alum (both are easily available at drug and grocery stores.) Or, you can try using a small amount of talcum powder or cornstarch. These can be less irritating than the prevalent deodorant/antiperspirants that comprise aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum chloride. Visit a health food store for other natural antiperspirants.

If your face is susceptible to sweating, try keeping a small spray bottle of witch hazel available, along with a small supply of cotton balls. Spray the witch hazel on one of these cotton ball and gently brush it over your face for quick respite.

Natural ways to stop sweating are very straightforward to use and not expensive. You don’t have to break the bank to stop breaking your sweat.

Sweating Excessively

August 13, 2008

Sweating excessively is more prevalent than many individuals may think. Excessive sweating normally happens on the palms, armpits and soles of the feet. This can come about at any part of the day and can be an emotional and distressing time.

Usually we sweat so our body cools down; as the sweat evaporates from the body it removes heat with it allowing us to feel cooler. Sweating excessively is also described as Hyperhidrosis and can occur even when a person isn’t overheated.

Hyperhidrosis can come in two forms, Focal and Generalised. Focal excessive sweating means the sweating is normally found in a set area of the body like the palms. Generalised excessive sweating means the sweating occurs all over the body and is not as common. Generalised sweating normally happens whilst sleeping and is quite often the result of a medical condition.

If a person is suffering from sweating nights and normally find yourself awaking with a wet bed and shivering it is important to note there may be a plethora of causes for these episodes. Sudden night sweats in men may be a symptom of a cancer such as Lymphomas. If you are suffering from sweating nights you should see a medical professional for a once over to rule out any dangerous causes especially if the sweating started abruptly.

Night sweats in women and men need to be checked over as urgently as possible . Focal excessive sweating is for the most part quite harmless and easily treatable but, Generalised Hyperhidrosis (or Night Sweats) can be an indication that there is an underlying problem with your health and needs to be looked into as soon as possible. Your medical professional will require your detailed medical history and do some tests to find out the reason you are sweating excessively.
